Teddy boys raise £100 from cake sale
Whitstable schoolboys Oliver Ulldemolins and Callum Whyte were 'bearly' able to contain their excitement when they visited Canterbury Food Bank recently.
The boys were given a VIP tour of the Food Bank warehouse after raising £100 for the charity from a school cake sale at St Alphege C of E Infants in Whitstable. They were also the first to be awarded Food Bank teddy bears as a thank you for their fund-raising efforts.
Oliver hit on the idea of a cake sale at his school as he enjoys eating cakes and thought it would be a good way to raise money for the Food Bank. He roped in his best friend Callum to help, and both boys went shopping afterwards to buy vitally needed supplies for us, which they delivered and sorted with a little help from our warehouse manager, Graham Potts.
