Russell Brand pays a visit
Controversial comedian, writer and activist Russell Brand witnessed at first hand the plight of Canterbury’s ‘hidden hungry’ on a recent visit to our warehouse.
Russell was a member of the panel of BBC TV’s Question Time, which was filmed at the Gulbenkian Theatre in Canterbury. He made a personal request to see the Food Bank in operation and met volunteers and chatted with Director Chrissie Barr and Co-ordinator Angela Gardiner for 30 minutes prior to the recording. He was impressed that so many people were prepared to volunteer to help people in need and staggered at the generosity of local people in donating food and money to the Food Bank.
